Jessica & Chase Somers

Hello, I’m Alisha Ruiz, a close friend of Jessica Somers. As many have probably heard, we tragically and unexpectedly lost Jess yesterday from complications of an acute medical condition. Jess was a an incredibly compassionate, skilled, and intelligent RN who would give the shirt off her back to help anyone. She had an impact on so many patients and colleagues in Wichita. But I can personally speak to length she would go through to help her friends and family. Jess was easily one of the most sentimental people I’ve ever met and she clinged to those she loved. I know I can speak for many of her former colleagues, friends, family, and patients in saying this is a devastating loss that is just so difficult to understand. Thank God for the memories of her ICU shenanigans, All Adult Weekends, and Framily Gatherings. I’ll never forget all the belly laughs.
Jess’ greatest aspiration in life was to be a mom and have a family. She was blessed with Chase a several years ago and many have asked how they can help with him. Sarah just started anesthesia school and will one day be able to make Chase’s life absolutely boujee, but for now she is a broke grad student. Jess’s good friend and colleague, Tiffany, suggested a fundraiser to help ease the burden of Chase’s upbringing in his mother’s absence. Funds will be used to support Chase in whatever he may need, including therapy, medical needs, and any other expenses that may come up. If you’re able, I know the Somer’s family would be eternally grateful for your support as they learn to live their life without Jess.
