Dear friends and family of Jessica and her loved ones. I don’t often ask for help but I am seeking some GoFundMe help now. I posted earlier on Facebook seeking prayers for my dear friend Diane Fernandez and Steve McClain in the loss of their cherished daughter, Jessica at age 42. I now discovered that due to Jessica’s long illness, financial assistance is needed for her kids and for her final services.
Let me share with you a little about Jessica and her life.
Jessica, a single mother of two, Mary (24) and Mason (5), raised this family, held a full-time job, as well as created and organized a charity to follow Jesus’ command to feed the poor in her community. Many touching remembrances were shared with her family from those individuals she helped throughout the years. She was a selfless, giving individual who loved life; however, Jessica faced several difficult challenges.
First, Mason was born prematurely at 1 pound, 1 once. She attributed his life saved by God, the San Diego Children’s Hospital NICU, and support of the Ronald MacDonald House. Many months were spent there before Mason was able to come home with Jessica and Mary. He has thrived and is now a healthy, rambunctious boy.
On January 1, 2022, Jessica was admitted to the hospital with COVID19, where she remained in critical condition on a respirator for 8 months. She was finally able to come home to her family in August, however, with severe lung damage and on oxygen 24 hours a day. She was on a list for a lung transplant when her heart gave out on February 10, and she when home to her Savior in Heaven.
A wonderful life has left us. Please pray for her family that God may give them peace and please, help financially if possible. Thank you.
