Jessica go to World Age Championships in Bulgaria

Donation protected
Hi Everyone

My name is Jessica Vickery. I am a 13-year-old trampolinist and really excited to be selected to represent Great Britain in November at the World Age Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria. I live in Wellington, Somerset but I train in Exeter, Devon 5 days a week and compete throughout the UK. I am so lucky to have my parents support and they take me everywhere.

The sport of Double Mini Trampoline is self-funded as a junior. It costs my parents about £8,000 each year for my training and competitions outside of World Championships. It’s become harder and harder for them to pay for my success so I’m looking for the support of individuals or businesses to help me fund my training and my opportunity at World Championships.

When I started trampolining in 2016 it cost my parents £50 per month. They never thought it would lead to me competing at this level. The trip to World Age Championships will cost in the region of £3,000 which includes UK training camps, competition entry, flights, accommodation and kit.

This year I have competed in my first international for England and came 2nd in the 13–16-year-old competition. It was an amazing experience; my next challenge awaits representing GBR. Being selected for Great Britain is a huge honour and to be one of the youngest in my age group is exciting to show them what I can do. I’m competing in the 13–14-year-old category.

A small business in Wellington has pledged a generous donation towards my trip and below is why he said he’d support me:

“Young athletes get no support. How are they expected to compete at the highest level when it costs so much money? Hearing the commitment Jessica puts into training (14+ hours a week) made me want to support her. She has an excellent school record as well as training more hours than some people can be bothered to work every week! Her determination and dedication should be supported by businesses like us that can benefit both morally and against our business tax!”

Any support you could give me however big or small would be amazing. I respect it may not be possible for you to do this. If you know of anyone else that could help please let them know. This could be a one-off amount or a regular monthly payment to support my ongoing training.

Unfortunately, I’m unable to have sponsor logos on my GBR kit but I'm in the process of creating a website and social media channels where I can post your support.

Thank you all.
