Jessica Jones Fund

Hello my name is Elishia and I am organising a fundraiser for some of my dearest family friends.

I’m sure most of Stawell and surrounding communities would know Jess and Mat Jones.

Whether you know them from the days at the Town Hall Hotel, The Gift Hotel and currently Chris and Di’s Bakery and the Stawell Club.

You may also know them from the many Fundraisers and Benefits they have organised and run for locals of the Stawell Community that fell on hard times or Not for Profit Charities over the years.

It is with a heavy heart that I am informing everyone that doesn’t already know that Jess and her family have fallen on hard times themselves.

On the 28thth of August this year Jess was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

Jess along with her husband Mat had to have some extremely hard conversations with their 3 children Lacie, Noah and Peyton.

17 days after her diagnosis Jess travelled to Ballarat Base Hospital to receive a mastectomy.

After coming out of surgery and being allowed to have a much needed coffee, Jess was visited by her medical team to discuss how the surgery went. They explained that the Cancer had spread into her muscle which meant they had to remove much more than they first thought, they also advised Jess that they also found Cancer in her lymph nodes.

Because of their findings and Jess’ age they are going to be conducting intensive Chemotherapy and radiation. Jess started with her weekly doses of Chemo on Thursday the 27th and running for 20 weeks. After which Jess will then start having daily radiation for a month, followed by more surgery.

Because of these intensive treatments (much to her disappointment) Jess no longer able to work. As anyone who knows Jess would understand how hard this is on her. Jess is one of the hardest working people I know and not being able to work and earn money for her family is weighing a heavy toll on Jess.

As most of you would know any kind of lasting illness can become a very big financial burden, especially when you have 3 young children.

It is for this reason Myself, Daz and their families are asking for your help.
