Jessica Kenmore's battle with Ewing's Sarcoma

Hello, my name is Angela Engleman, and I am fundraising for my dear friend, Jessica Kenmore. Jessica was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma in June 2022, but not without an extremely long road to diagnosis. Ewing's Sarcoma is an extremely rare pediatric cancer, almost unheard of in adults. She had to collaborate with the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio and the NIH in D.C. to achieve a correct diagnosis, wasting precious resources that cannot and will not immediately be replaced due to her required extensive treatments. Fortunately, Jessica was able to be put on a pediatric protocol for treatment. Unfortunately, this means she spends 20+ days per month in the pediatric ward of the hospital. This fundraiser is to help with Jessica's living and ever-incurring medical expenses during the remaining year-long treatment, as she will not be able to work while enduring weekly chemotherapy, blood transfusions, platelet transfusions, and the side effects of the treatment overall.

I know many of you have worked with Jessica in the past, have been friends with her, have played volleyball with her, played kickball with her, or maybe you are reading this and don't know Jessica at all. Let me say this: she is the type of person who would only allow me to implement this fundraiser as a last resort. Jessica has pediatric cancer, so she is not eligible for any grants because she is an adult. Adults are not supposed to get the type of cancer she has, yet she does indeed have it. I know the situation sounds crazy, but it is true. Throughout this horrible experience, she has remained strong and resilient, despite the daily struggle and emotional toll this takes on her. Her doctors say her positivity will give her the strength to beat this cancer.

I set a monetary goal based on what Jessica will need in the next twelve months during her treatments due to her inability to work. Any amount helps, and all donations will go directly to Jessica.
