Jessica Kent Needs Our Help

Hi My Amazing Souls,
If there is anything I have learned over the past few years, it’s my newfound discovery of what a strong community can do for one of their own in need....especially a soul who devotes a huge piece of their heart and soul into the Frederick Community every single day. 

Many of you may know Jessica Kent for all of the amazing work she does for our community.   I am honored to be able to call her a good friend and support for me and my son.  More importantly, she serves families, especially marginalized families, through some of the hardest and most important moments of their lives through The Birthing Circle - https://www.birthingcircle.org  and Doula Project.  She serves on the county Commissioner for women, and works tirelessly for women’s issues in our state. She also serves the local LGBTQ community.

She is an devoted and loving single Mom to her sweet 3 year old boy.  Almost all of this she does either for very low pay, and often zero pay. The last two months have been very difficult on the fundraising side and she hasn’t gotten a regular paycheck at all, and now she’s facing financial crisis (beyond living below the poverty line generally) and her basic bills and grocery and gas needs aren’t being met.  If it was just her she had to worry about it would be one thing, but she has a little mouth to feed and take care of too.

She gives so generously to help us all, in small ways and big initiatives, and now it’s time for us to help her out.  Pay it forward right?

She has been also searching for a 9-5 additional work, but nothing has come through in the six months that she’s been looking. I promise she’s not seeking charity, but is just in a temporary rough place.

She is in need of the following:
- Grocery Money to put food on her table
- Funds to help pay her bills
- Babysitters for her 3 year old or funds for her to secure a babysitter so she can continue to help women who NEED her in the Doula Project.
- Funds for a new car tire 

Asking for help is so hard, but we greatly appreciate any support you can give! Our Community needs a voice like Jessicas’ and we need to come together to help her in her time of need!
