Jessica lost her home in River Fire

Jessica, Josh and Kai have tragically lost their beautiful log cabin rental home in the River Fire. They are currently staying in Rancho Cordova with family, but their lives, jobs, and school are here in Nevada County. Kai will be starting 5th grade this month.

Jessica is KVMR’s “Gal Everything...” she has been a beloved and indispensable member of our KVMR family for 8 years. Josh works as a dishwasher at the Thirsty Barrel. They are beloved family and community members. They got out with a few basic personal items, their dog Brutus, and their lives.

To quote Jess....”It took 6 years to move in, and 20 minutes to move out.”

Divine providence of a sort and perfect timing have enabled us to secure an IMMEDIATE temporary rental for them in Grass Valley. We are trying to raise some $$ for their first couple of months of rent and some basic furnishings and supplies that they may need to get going again. If you know Jessica, you know she is the last person to ask for help, but the first person to give you the shirt off her back, an ear to rant to, or some chocolate on a bad day.

There is nothing easy about losing one’s home and belongings to wildfire, but if we can ease the burden of this family finding a rental and getting on with their lives while navigating all of the FEMA blah blah blah, then we are serving our purpose as friends and community members. Let’s do this for Jess and fam!!

Please withhold from dropping off items until we have confirmed that there is a need. The Faulks-Lipanovich family is still processing and not ready to acquire a whole lot in this temporary situation.
