Jessica the Helper and The Peaceful Rest

Donation protected
After nearly a year of aches, pains and a nagging sense that something wasn't right, my sister, Jessica, was diagnosed with Stage 3 Cervical Cancer in August 2021. A single mom to three really great kids - Megan, Ryan and Ethan - Jessica has worked so hard to ensure that her home and family are well cared for. Those who know her know how much effort and love she puts into her work. She prepared herself to fight cancer with the same "get-it-done" attitude and is fortunate to be a patient of Moffit Cancer Center in Tampa. However, this excellent center is 3 hours away from her home in Palm Bay. She started aggressive chemo and radiation from September through November. Cancer really does suck. In February 2022, Jessica had a PET scan to see how her body responded to the treatments. Cancer was found in other locations and so her fight continues. At the end of this month, May 2022, Jessica will get to participate in a TIL Therapy clinical trial. This could have a major impact on her recovery! The clinical trial will have her hospitalized for 2 weeks and then monitored for another 30 days, while she heals.

Jessica travels mainly with her daughter, Megan, to Moffit Cancer Center to various appointments: chemo, radiation, lab work, checkups, outpatient procedures, surgeries, etc. Sometimes she must stay overnight or be hospitalized for extended periods, and her daughter must stay in a hotel. Because Megan, also a full-time student, is Jessica's primary caretaker, she has also missed a lot of work, and the family income has nearly stopped.

There are a multitude of expenses associated with cancer and all the other medical complications that can & do occur. Keeping up with supplies and other medical needs takes priority. Unfortunately, some household management is sidelined and bills have begun to stack up. Right now, she is behind on her auto insurance and facing a lapse in coverage. The total needed for this bill is $1,100.00. It's critical for Jessica to have transportation to her doctors.

Jessica has always been the first to drop everything and come when she hears the word "help". She has spent countless hours and unimaginable heart with so many people - never looking for anything in return. In my home, we like to say "what would Jessica do?" whenever we are faced with anything difficult. Now, Jessica is asking for help. Please donate whatever you can, whenever you can, and be sure to share your love with Jessica, and all those around you. Thank you for taking your time to read and share! Any help is so greatly appreciated.
