Jessica Thompson (JT) with Medical costs

Hi, my name is Katie and I am starting this GoFundMe for my great friend and coworker Jessica Thompson. Jessica is the kind of person who is always there to help anyone in need. She is our problem solver, the one anyone can go to when they need a shoulder or advice or just someone to vent to. Jessica is the kind of person who always gives to others and expects nothing in return. She is the most selfless person I have ever known, and now is a chance to give back to her!

Jessica has recently been diagnosed with Discitis osteomyelitis. This is an infection of the vertebral discs in the spinal cord that has spread to the bone. She first started feeling pain in her lower back in early Jan 2024, and was repeatedly dismissed by doctors saying to go to the chiropractor or go see pain management. This was until she insisted on an MRI, which revealed a large infection in her spine. She was then asked to immediately be admitted into the hospital where she was for 5 days, and now has to spend every day for 6 weeks receiving the intravenous (IV) antibiotics necessary to fight the infections.

These antibiotics have to be paid for out-of-pocket as her insurance will not cover them. They are $800 a week. There are also hospital stay bills, that her insurance will not cover until her $9,000 deductible is met, and even then only covering half. Additionally, because of the time it took to find this infection, she has lost full use of her right leg and will need Physical Therapy to help regain her strength, which is at a minimum $250/session. This goal is to help cover these expenses.

Jess is a mom of two still living at home, and a wife to her Husband Scott. This family is some of the best people you will ever meet, who are always giving back.
