Jessica Wright Memorial Festival

Hi, my name is Cathy Wright, and I am trying to raise funds to host an outdoor mental health awareness day for the community. We are all coming out of this pandemic after spending so much time isolated and disconnected from our support networks. Depression is at an all-time high, and so is our suicide rates. We need to reconnect, get revitalized, and find our resources to rebuild our communities.
My daughter Jessica Wright was an EMT in Springfield, MA since 2011. She loved her job, and she loved helping others. Jessica worked at the COVID site at the Eastfield mall and was featured in a series by MassLive called "In the shadow of the frontline/" Jessica touched many lives through her work in the area and was loved and respected by many. Jessica committed suicide last year in April, which devastated her family, friends, and loved ones. In her honor we want to get out in the open and reach out to others that may be suffering in silence.
We want to use the funds to host an outdoor, family friendly event that will have local mental health sponsors, and much needed resources available to the public. We want people to be able to reconnect and talk about our hard times over the past few years with the pandemic. We want to reach out and hug again, and embrace those that need a village, and support. Thank you in advance for your help and support.
