Renu’s Education

Hi friends, My Daughter Renu in India received a full scholarship to attend Asian University for Woman in Bangladesh! However the scholarship does not cover school fees and spending money. The school fee is $600 annually and the rest will be for spending money. Renu was an exchange student for the 2018/2019 school year and attended West Milford High School in New Jersey. She achieved straight A’s and was in the top 15 students in the entire Junior class. This was a major accomplishment since English was not her first language and had only been studying English for a few years. So it was no surprise to me that she would receive a full scholarship to college! Renu comes from a small village in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. She would spend her time working in the fields and grazing goats. It is expected for girls to drop out of school at a young age and become a wife and mother. Renu’s Mother, who is illiterate wanted a better life for her daughter and learned how to write her name so she could fill out school forms so Renu could attend school. Girls going to school is frowned upon in her village. But Renu kept going and never gave up. Renu is the first graduating class, of 9 girls from Yuwa School in India. What an amazing accomplishment. Without Yuwa’s support who knows where Renu would be today. Thank you for your donation for Renu’s education.
