Jessica's fund for SAFINA LION CONSERVATION FUND
Hi everyone Jess is back on a fundraising mission, this time it’s for SAFINA LION CONSERVATION. We are doing this with APEX EXTREME another charity that Jess is a volunteer for...she would love to raise enough to provide a tracker for at least one lion which costs £2500. We are starting with a sponsored 23k walk and litter pick on 4th Sept. Jess is also busy making keyrings, pictures and bird feeders to start selling here are the details and the story from SAFINA. Anything you can give will go a long way to helping protect these beautiful animals xxx
On the 4th Sept a group of around 10 volunteers and trustees from the
Safina Lion Conservation Fund and Apex Extreme will be taking
part in a 23km walk and litter pick around the Cotswolds area. We have chosen 23km to represent the estimated 23,000 lions left in the wild, so every meter we walk will represent 1 lion that is left in the wild. Whilst we are raising awareness for lion conservation we will also be picking up litter as part of Apex Extreme’s ‘Take out the trash’ campaign as they work to protect predators and their habitats all over the globe, even smaller predators in the UK too. We hope to use this walk to raise awareness for the plight of lions in the wild and to do our little bit to help our own ecosystem here in the UK.
All donations received will go directly to the Safina Lion Conservation Fund and then to support the work they carry out through three conservation partners that work in Kenya and Tanzania to protect lions in the wild.
