Jessie Liddiard's Medical Bills
Spende geschützt
Jessie Liddiard (25) is the very embodiment of hopeful optimism. She's a fun-loving, kind-hearted sister, daughter, and friend who invariably makes those she meets happier for the experience. Her love for others is rivaled only by her love for nature and the outdoors.
Jessie with her sisters
She was hiking on Friday, August 5, 2022, when a rock, roughly the size of a volleyball, fell from an estimated 120 feet or more above the trail and struck the side of her head. She wore her helmet even while hiking which saved her life. However, the impact broke through the helmet and shattered her skull. She lay unconscious, bleeding heavily, and under her companion's care till emergency crews arrived. Life Flight flew her to the hospital for emergency neuro-surgery.
We now wait to find out more about the extent of her brain injuries. Jessie lies in the ICU, on a ventilator, and in critical condition. She spent hours in surgery, and the doctors were uncertain if she would survive due to her significant brain swelling. True to her spirit, Jessie responded well to the treatment. However, she's sustained permanent hearing loss and will require months of therapy in the future. She has a long road ahead of her.
She faces the costs of neuro-surgery and the prospect of medical bills associated with what will be a long recovery. We do not know the ultimate price, but we know it will exceed $500,000.
Please help us provide a recovery for Jessie and help her and her family with the financial burden associated with this tragedy. We appreciate spiritual help from the faith and prayers on her behalf. We must now ask for your financial support as well.
All funds will go directly to pay for medical care at the hospital and rehabilitation.
