Jessie's Live Life Bigger Challenge

In short, last year, aged 31, I was diagnosed with breast cancer (adenosquamous cell carcinoma). I had 2 surgeries and an intense course of radiotherapy treatment. ⚡️

My life got flipped on its head and realised that life is far too short ⏰️. So, I have decided to challenge myself with some charity fundraiser adventures. Forcing myself out of my comfort zone, to live life bigger and give back to a couple of charities that helped me throughout my diagnosis. I also managed to rope my friends and family into them (not that it took much persuading). ❤️

So far I have planned:

• 27th August: I am attempting the National Three Peaks Challenge. Climbing the highest mountains of England, Scotland and Wales within 24 hours. A total walking distance of 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft).

I have never hiked in my life!!!! But I'll be getting to know the stair-master at the gym very well!

• 4th September: I will be riding the NC 500.  Travelling the 516-mile scenic route around the north coast of Scotland in a maximum of 5 days on a motorcycle.

During all my investigations and before knowing my prognosis, one of the things I really wanted to do was get on 2 wheels! I had been putting it off for years. Now, to push myself even more...

 The Charities

donations will be equally divided to both

1- The Boudicca Breast Cancer Appeal helps provide further updates to the whole breast unit at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) with additional counselling rooms, new and improved equipment as it is required, additional training for staff and support for patients. Basically trying to better the experience for patients with fewer days of anxiety.

All my treatment was done at the NNUH, now its my chance to give back to show my appreciation for their amazing service and support.

2- Little Lifts provides the most thoughtfully handpicked gifts to support people with breast cancer.

I received my wellbeing box on the first day of my radiotherapy treatment. It was such a lovely gesture on a very nerve provoking day. I want to ensure more people get the same 'pick-me-up'.
