Jester Family Tragedy

Donation protected
Hello all…

I wrote this fundraiser on December 22, 2023, for a local family, devastated by accident that changed their lives forever. Since then, we have raised over 30K to help Robert & Kayla with medical and funeral expenses. Both Robert & Kayla are very thankful to everyone who donated. Words cannot describe the comfort and support felt by the Jester family.

Hayden is doing well, quietly processing what has happened. He’s been spending lots of time with his dad and helping at Ocean Auto.

Jamison has begun pushing his way through a long road to recovery. 2024 brings Jamison two more surgeries, months of physical therapy, multiple doctor appointments.

The Jester family did not celebrate Christmas. Robert, Kayla and Jamison spent the holiday in the hospital while Hayden stayed home with his surviving grandma.

This post will stay active one more week, if anyone who would like to donate. To all who want to help but are not comfortable donating on the go-fund-me website. I have found that both boys like Lego’s. Lego anything! These boys would love some special attention. Especially something fun, Lego fun!! Anyone can send or drop off Lego gifts for Hayden and Jamison to the address below….

This will be my final Jester Family update. I am going to close this post and release this fund to Robert & Kayla on January 16, 2024.

Thanks to all who got involved in supporting the Jester family. Together we made a difference!

A special thanks to the first responders, police, and paramedics who, likely saved Jamison’s life. The doctors and nurses who worked through their holiday to care for Jamison. Their selfless dedication is recognized and appreciated.

Jamison, a superhero’s big thumbs up! What a champ!

Again, thank you all for your kindness and donations.

My name is Jill Gance, I own and operate Ocean Auto, an auto maintenance & repair shop in Ocean Park WA. Robert Jester is the newest mechanic on our team. Robert immediately found a home for his toolbox and fit right in with the crew as if his place at Ocean Auto was waiting for him. In a short period of time, Robert has shown exceptional work ethics, humility, and craftsmanship. Robert is exactly where he belongs. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to know both Robert and his wife Kayla.

Robert and Kayla have two young children. Hayden is the oldest 12 years old and Jamison, 11 years old. The Jester’s live in Ocean Park with their children’s grandmother, Jean Ormiston,

Last Wednesday, December 20th at approximately 11:15am a car accident on the Astoria-Megler Bridge took the life of Jean Ormiston. She was 81 years old.

Jean and her grandsons Hayden & Jamison were on their way to have a fun day Christmas shopping when the accident occurred.

Jean passed away at the scene, both children were injured and transported to Columbia Memorial Hospital. Hayden was treated and released. Jamison’s injuries are critical, he was transported to Doernbecher Childrens Hospital, OHSU in Portland Organ. Jamison has undergone extensive surgery to repair his internal injuries. Robert and Kayla are now having conversations with doctors to decide Jamison’s next surgical procedures to repair his spine fractures and spinal cord injuries.

Christmas fun and celebration stopped in its tracks on that foggy December morning.

Instead of planning Christmas dinner, Robert and Kayla are planning a funeral for Grandma.

Instead of wrapping gifts and sipping cocoa with their children, Robert and Kayla are spending sleepless days and nights in the hospital with their youngest son, while their older son, Hayden is home with another family member.

Instead of planning a summer family vacation, Robert and Kayla will be burdened with mounting medical bills and living expenses. Simply put, the Jester family has a very tough and long road to recovery on all fronts.

This family needs financial help. Monetary gifts from all who can afford to give, no matter what amount. I’m asking anyone who reads this post to contribute to helping Robert and Kayla with their financial hardship so they can focus on their son’s recovery and mourn the loss of their beloved grandmother.

Please forward this link for maximum exposure in the effort to relieve financial stress from a family who needs it. This cause is just; contributions are very much needed and appreciated.

All donations go directly to Robert and Kayla to be used at their discretion for expenses brought upon them because of a terrible accident.
