Jesus M Urbalejo Memorial

As many of you know, our father, Jesus M. Urbalejo, tragically lost his short battle to COVID-19 on May 31st, 2020.  He was 77 years old.  To many of you COVID is just a word or illness you hear, but to those who live it first hand, it’s completely devastating! It takes away your loved one without being able to hold their hand and say or give them a proper good-bye, not that there is a proper way to say “good-bye” to such a wonderful man.

77 years seem like a lifetime, but it is oh so short!  He was content with his life, and in his final days he made sure we knew how much he loved us, and how much he wanted us to take care of our mother! That’s all that mattered to him! not his pain nor suffering, “take care of your mom” were his final words to me.  In his weak voice, he made sure I heard.

He dedicated his entire life to his family! And as if that wasn’t enough, he gave to his friends and community.  His love of baseball was his biggest gift, not only to us, but to others when he coached little league teams, or attended every single one of my brothers baseball games or mine and my sister’s softball games, and lately when he attended his grandchildren’s games, giving “pointers”, that’s when he was the happiest.  He was a quiet man, but his heart did most of the talking.  He was hard working, smart, compassionate and most of all, selfless.  He would help those he could and would give almost anything to see our mother happy, then us, then his grandchildren, and so on.  He never put himself first!

He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Antonia, children, Amelia, Aida, Jesus, Jose and Alma along with his grandchildren and recently added a great grandchild.  He touched the lives of everyone he met.

Our family needs your support now more than ever.  Your generous donations will help with funeral expenses and other financial burdens during this difficult time.  God Bless you and thank you for your donation.  Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers for our family and I ask that you continue to keep all of us, especially our mother, in your prayers.
Love, The Urbalejo Family
