Bahrain’s Happy Tails
Donation protected
Thousands of gentle, loving dogs, many of them former pets, are dumped daily in the slums of Bahrain. These innocent creatures are victim to grotesque violence at the hands of the humans they still yearn for, temperatures over 130 degrees, thirst, hunger and preventable disease. New litters of pups are born daily, and Bahrain’s Happy Tails distributes sustenance, flea and tick treatment and partners with a local clinic to spay/neuter as soon as pups are old enough. Every penny donated to our small all-volunteer group goes directly to food, water, spay/neuter, veterinary treatment - and for a fortunate few, rescue.
When it’s safe for the dog, our team on the front lines in Bahrain works to extract the most vulnerable, treat and rehabilitate them, and ultimately meet their forever families - locally or across the globe. Anyone who has had the fortune of crossing paths with a dog from Bahrain knows that Bahraini rescues are among the most loyal, loving, intelligent and affectionate pets you can find.
We never send a dog back into the streets and with limited foster or adoptive families in Bahrain, some of our rescued dogs wait in boarding kennels as we search for their forever homes all around the globe. We pay fees monthly in advance, often from our own pocket, and work tirelessly to prepare dogs for travel, including their airline crates, veterinary clearance and export papers.
Thank you for your selfless contribution toward showing these trusting souls that all hope is not lost and humans can still be a dog’s best friend.
