Hi everyone! My name is JET Tanner and I'm a senior golfer, who has been playing for over 30 years. How time flies when you are having fun!
I'm excited to announce that I can play in the qualifier to get me into the USGA 68th U.S. Senior Amateur Golf Championships, which will take place in Truckee, CA from August 26, 2023, to August 31, 2023. The tournament is a great opportunity to showcase my skills and compete against other top senior golfers from around the country. To play, I have to compete in a qualifying round in Dallas, Texas.
Help me make this dream a reality, I need to raise $10,000.00 to cover, the qualifying round in Dallas, Texas on July 31, 2023, travel for me and my caddy to the qualifier plus tournament, lodging, food, rental car, practice round green fees in preparation for the event, golf range fees, and miscellaneous golf equipment. This is where I'm asking for your help. Any contribution, big or small, will go a long way in helping me and my caddy, Bryan McKenney, participate in this tournament.
About me:
I am 57 years old and grew up as a Navy dependent. Working hard and doing everything I can for my family has always been my goal and mantra. Now that my wife and I became empty-nesters, we have now decided for me to pursue my golf dream, which started on January 1st of 2023. I carry a decent handicap of 4 and have the ability to play better on good days. Some days are tough with this old body, but, I am going to do everything I can to be successful in my goal.
About my caddy:
My caddy is my brother-in-law, and someone I trust. He is a very good golfer and knows how to keep me in the right frame of mind. He is light-hearted and super helpful. He is perfect for my bag, and together we will be successful.
How the funds will be used:
The funds will be used in a variety of ways for me and my caddy. Here is the list:
-Tournament fees
-Travel for practice rounds for the qualifier in Dallas, Texas, but also, if I do qualify, in Truckee, CA. This includes a rental car, hotel, food, green and range fees, and supplies.
-local green and range fees at my home course to practice before each event. This means a green fee one time per week leading, and range fees 3x's a week up to the event.
-Coach fee for two months
-Caddy fee for two months
-Miscellaneous golf equipment including balls, new grips, etc...
Why your support matters:
This tournament will give me the ability to chase a dream. In addition, the credibility to apply to be a coach at a University or College level. I want to give back to the community through coaching, and building a legacy.
Thank you so much for your support! It means a lot to me. I am humbled and will give it my all. Helping someone with a dream is a big deal for me. It is important that you know, I am very appreciative and grateful.
