Jett Fighter 50km Walk
Donation protected
Central Coast teen Jett a vibrant, charismatic and ever so kind 13 year old boy was holidaying with his beloved G’ma in Mackay when their lives changed forever. Jett had suddenly lost his vision and become disorientated. Grandma sensed something was horribly wrong and rushed to the local Mackay Base Hospital. Their world was about to change forever, Jett underwent an MRI to discover he had a large tennis ball size tumour and large cyst growing on his beautiful brain. Single mum Sam was back in NSW working to support their little family when she received the terrifying call to rush to Townsville University Hospital where he was flown for life saving surgery
The family is now trying to process this unimaginable turn of events and look to modify their home and life to accommodate the emerging needs of Jett as his vision has not returned and treatment will be intensive. Sam who has dedicated her life to working with children will cease working to support her little hero who will require round the clock care. As the sole carer and income earner we are seeking support for Sam so she can concentrate on caring for her little boy and help ease the financial pressures of life.
Family friends Darren and Nathan are embarking on a 50km walk with golf bag in tow from Marvel Stadium to Sandhurst Club VIC to raise awareness of paediatric cancer and raise much needed funds to support Jett and his mum.
