Jett’s Wheelchair & Hip Dysplasia Fund
Donation protected
Hi! I’m Paige, Jett’s mom. Jett is a rescued 4-year-old pit bull/lab mix who is a brother to his fur sister, Ruby, and protector of 5-year-old Ava and 3-month-old Cameron. Jett was at one point extremely energetic, went for long runs with me, and did laps around the backyard with the neighbor’s dog. Jett’s double hip dysplasia and double luxating patella, though we have known about them since he was a puppy, have gotten worse in what seems like overnight. His joints are completely deteriorating, and at 4 years old, it’s extremely hard to watch. Jett is now at the point where he is dragging his back legs at times because he is in so much pain. He is on two pain medications, but even they can only do so much. A surgery for all of his issues will cost approximately $16,000 and like most middle class Americans, we do not have that extra money lying around. I would absolutely love to raise $16,000 to fix Jett’s issues, but I highly doubt I will raise that much.
So, we’d like to be realistic and start by raising enough money to buy him a wheelchair to take his legs off the ground and give him some relief. If we raise more to go towards surgery, we will do that. X-rays alone are about $350! He had doggy health insurance but it does not cover orthopedic conditions or pre-existing conditions.
I want Jett to be able to go on walks comfortably again. Jett is the most loyal, obedient, compassionate dog, and I would truly be lost without him. To say he has saved my life would be an understatement. I can’t fathom the thought of putting him down at 4 years old because we can’t afford surgery or another way to assist him. Please assist in any way you can, even if that means just sharing this Go Fund Me with your friends and family! Every dollar will add up. My family and I really appreciate you taking the time to read this :)
