Jewel of the South Staff Relief Fund

To mitigate the spread of the novel and infectious COVID-19, Jewel of the South has suspended all operations. Although the decision was a difficult one to make, we feel that it is the only way to ensure the safety of our community, as well as our staff of 30 hardworking individuals. Our staff members are mothers, fathers, artists, musicians, writers, young and old alike.




We have ensured everyone laid off has the necessary information to access financial relief in these trying times, but for many unemployment benefits are not enough. In order to alleviate the inevitable adversity we will be facing in the coming months, we are asking for the support of our community. It is through solidarity and unity that we will be able to move forward with resilience.




Four staff members from diverse positions within the restaurant have been asked to form a committee which will oversee and maintain a GoFundMe account. The funds from this account will be distributed equally amongst our 30 staff members. As we are unable to share our passion for hospitality with you in person, we will be putting our collective talents together for a weekly newsletter filled with recipes from our kitchen, cocktail history, updates from the staff, and even a few jokes. Laughter, after all, is the best medicine.




While it remains unclear when we will be able to serve you your next French 75 or Eccles cake, we look forward to once again having the pleasure of taking care of you.
