Please make their dream a reality!
Who? Approximately 70 Orthodox Jewish girls, in several different cities and states, who are skilled gymnasts
What? To participate in a competition with their peers, in an environment that conforms to all of their religious requirements
Why? 1. To show the girls that it is possible to foster their talents without compromising their values 2. To give the girls an opportunity to meet like-minded girls who share their religious beliefs and their interest and skill at gymnastics
How can you help? Our girls come from large families and the majority of them would need to travel in from the Tri-State area into Cleveland, Ohio for this competition. This involves travel and lodging expenses, in addition to fees for competition leotards, and an entrance fee. Any amount that you could give would offset the expenses and allow more of the girls to participate.
What else would the money go towards? Costs to provide everyone with awards (ribbons and trophies), costs to rent out a gym for the competition (the local Orthodox Jewish gymnastics studio is not large enough for this purpose), costs to hire certified official judges, and costs to provide food.
The small print: We are a group of small gymnastics studios, independently owned by Orthodox Jewish women, who want to offer our girls the opportunity to compete in an environment that is consistent with their religious beliefs and sensitivities. This means holding meets on days other than Saturdays, renting out facilities and ensuring that there are only female coaches/judges/ guests in attendance, and providing kosher food for our athletes at the event.
The next competition is scheduled for May 29,2016 in Cleveland. Without the funds generated by this Go Fund Me, we will either need to cancel the event or raise the entrance fee to an amount that is unattainable for many of our athletes (meaning that many girls would be unable to attend).
