Jewish American Soldiers: WWII Doc
Donation protected
Jewish American Soldiers: Stories from WWII tells the stories of Charlotte-area Jewish American World War II veterans. It explores their unique experiences of being Jewish soldiers at a time when Jews were outcasts around the world, including in America.
The documentary, produced by Full Scale Productions, Inc., and Hornet's Nest Jewish War Veterans Post 765 , will be told mainly through first-person interviews, but might include short bits of narration. We will use stock and archival footage to recreate some of the battles and better tell their stories. Poignant recollections and file material will illuminate the way these “Greatest Generation” war heroes and their families were affected by being Jewish during the war.
Hornet's Nest Jewish War Veterans Post 765 , a 501(c)(3), is requesting the money in order to produce this documentary to preserve the heritage and unique wartime experiences of Jewish veterans, and provide an educational resource for our Jewish community and the community- at-large now and for future generations.
When Jewish American Soldiers: Stories from WWII is completed, we will be able to submit it to film festivals and the Library of Congress’ Veterans History Project. We will also offer copies at cost to Jewish Community Centers, veterans groups and other organizations around the world.
Part of the mission of the Jewish War Veterans of the United States is: “To preserve the memories and records of patriotic service performed by the men and women of our faith; to honor their memory and shield from neglect the graves of our heroic dead.”
Regardless of the amount raised, we will produce some version of Jewish American Soldiers: Stories from WWII. All donors will be given a supporter credit at the end of the movie. Sponsors donating $10,000 or more will get an Executive Producer credit.
Please remember that your donations are tax deductible. Thank you for contributing to this important film.
