DECEMBER 11, 2020 UPDATE

In the six weeks since the launch of our Branding Tattoo Removal campaign we surpassed our initial goal of $10,000 to support survivors of human trafficking in removing their branding tattoos. In total, we raised $11,430!!!


Our campaign would not have been successful without the overwhelming support from our community, including:
16 iRISE Ambassadors, 186 donors, 2 agencies, multiple advocates, and public figures raised money, supported, and shared on their platforms.

Project​ iRISE is a survivor-led, community-based not-for-profit organization providing innovative skills & leadership development programs & opportunities for human trafficking survivors and those at risk. We provide trauma-informed and culturally responsive anti-trafficking programming and educational training for survivors, youth, caregivers, service providers to educate and empower our community.


Traffickers use multiple tactics to execute control. One such way is by forcing or coercing their victims into getting tattooed or branded to signify that they belong to their traffickers. These tattoos are a constant reminder of the trauma survivors experienced and can often hinder employment and their ability to move on with their lives.⁣⁣⁣

That's why are raising $10 000  to pay for branding tattoo removal for survivors of human trafficking. Each branding removal costs approximately $500 and will help a survivor rebuild her confidence and remove a visible reminder of a painful past.
