In Loving Memory of Gina

Our beautiful Gina Salazar has gotten her Angel wings at long last.

Gina was diagnosed with breast cancer on September 9, 2019. Over the following two years, Gina bravely endured multiple rounds of chemo and radiation therapy, and even a major surgery with no success.

In the end, the cancer had reached major organs, bone and last her brain.

Gina left this world surrounded with love, held in the arms of Mom, Dad, and her sweet daughter Ava on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 9:38pm. She passed peacefully in her home on Gil’s Hill.

She will always be the strongest warrior we have ever known. She is our real-life Wonder Woman.

Gina joins her Nana Janis in Heaven, and leaves behind her daughter Ava, Dad and Mom Gilbert and Reta, Brother Gilbert III, Nieces Cali and Carissa, Grandparents Gilbert Sr. and Edna, numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins, and her amazing extended family and friends that supported her throughout her life’s journey.

Gina was a mammographer/radiographer. She was passionate about spreading awareness about breast cancer and encouraged every woman to be diligent with their yearly mammograms. She was an advocate and cheerleader for many women experiencing metastatic breast cancer.

Gina loved life, she truly believed in living life to the fullest. She loved dancing, singing, her friends and family but most of all her daughter Ava. Ava remains under the care of her grandparents and it is per Ginas wishes for Ava to remain with them.

The costs of caring for Ava, a potential custody battle and funeral arrangements is why we are putting this page together. Any donation or sharing of this page would make a huge difference in helping the Salazar family with these expenses.
