UPDATE as of 8/08/2023

Thank you so much for all the kind words and generosity I've received since the inception of the GFM. I do not have the words to describe just how much I appreciate and am grateful for each and every dollar that has been given to help me towards my goal. I'm forever thankful and am glad I'm at the place I am now. The last two weeks have been so very tough, but the move was as smooth as my friends and I could make it after my mother somewhat strong-armed me into letting her help me move and get my things to the new place. And despite hip and hoola, it happened.

Currently, I am job hunting for a place that is near the new apartment OR is completely remote like it's a second career. I'm in a lot of fear due to the transportation costs now to get to and from work will continue to cut into my checks for rent and food. I'm using the resources my psychiatric clinic has afforded me and assisted in signing me up for (SNAP, CASH assistance, etc), but it's majority a waiting game to see if I'm eligible and qualified. One that leaves me impatient because I am dealing with a new manager.

Without notice to me and my colleagues the administration unit has been transferred from my previous supervisor to a new one). As with any changes done, we try our best to adapt, but I do not feel there's a level of comfort there nor do I feel a sense of understanding. I'm already stuck due to the accommodation request put in months ago being rejected on the basis of it "not being favorable for business" for the university, and this is in spite of my psychiatrist and therapist providing all of my doctoral information. I would need to use my PTO/Annual/Sick leave to cover the days I have my appointments, as well as any episodes and since earlier this year, my leave has depleted .. I took these things in stride.

Now after requesting a schedule change simply for the fact that I get in before 7AM and it would help with the transportation schedule to and from work with my roommates. Especially since not every day, I'll be able to hitch a ride with them into the city. However, this was rejected as well on the fact that it would "create an undue hardship to the University and my colleagues". So, despite being a state employee part of an HBCU, I'm given no sort of olive branch. So, I'm trying.. but it's really, really hard. I'm trying to tough out this strenuous effort, but I doubt with now, 35-40 dollar trips, I'll be able to afford my portion of expenses.

I'm doing what I can, and I feel horrid asking for any more than what's already been given but I do need the help. If you can find it in your to share, donate, or what have you, I'd be eternally thankful. Truly.

As I said before, I'm not looking for.. some way to be set up. I just want to be able to stand on my own feet and be independent.
