Dying Vet Reuniting with Brother
Donation protected
Hi my name is James Rutherford,
I am a 57 year old disabled Navy veteran currently on hospice care due to Stage 4 Esophegeal Cancer. Due to hard life circumstances I became estranged from my brother, Gary, and have not seen him in 20 years. Gary is a Marine Corp. veteran who lives in Kansas. Recently a miracle occured and I was able to get my wish of finding my brother before I passed away! We have spoken on the phone many times and are hoping to be able to reconnect in person before it's too late.
That's where YOU come in. I am trying to raise funds for my brother's plane ticket, to cover the cost of him not working for a week, and to have some money to show him the sites of San Diego. We are planning the visit for the end of January in order to spend time together while I am still able to get out and about.
This means everything to me! My brother is the only living relative that I know of, and my final wish is to be able to give him a hug. Please consider helping two veterans reconnect and spend some family time together. Your help is the only way that this dream can happen, thank you very much and God Bless.
Sincerely,
Jim
