Long road to recovery
Donation protected
Recently my husband and I along with our 4 children were on vacation. Unfortunately it was cut short and our lives changed forever. Half way through our vacation something wasn't right and we had to take my husband to the local hospital where we were vacationing. Upon arrival we were immediately brought back into a Emergency room and evaluated due to it being a small town hospital they were unable to do all of the testing that was needed. We had a couple different options: 1 was to wait until the portable machine that came only once a week. 2 was to be transported to the closest hospital that had everything needed. 3 pack and go to a hospital near home. We chose to pack up and go home because it seemed like the best option. So we packed up came home. We went straight to the hospital. While there they did a CT and MRI. The MRI showed deep in his brain he had a stroke. Though it wasn't as bad as it could have been he has a long road to recovery. He will have to relearn to walk correctly and relearn to use his left arm/hand. His speech was also effected. He is needing physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy every day. Unfortunately he did not have insurance so everything has to be out of pocket. He will be out of work for a long while. We were told the first 6 months are going to be crucial and any lingering issues after a year will be permanent. Im not usually the one to ask for help but at this point I have to as I am the only one bringing in and kind of income. I will have to not only support our family but the hospital bills and the pt, ot, and speech therapy costs. If you are able to help it would be much appreciated even if its just a share. Thank you in advanced.
