Jianna's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
On July 8, 2018 Jianna and her boyfriend Greg were in a head on collision in Los Angeles. The driver who hit them was going over 85mph and the damages were absolutely devastating. Jianna suffered from a broken wrist, three broken ribs, a lacerated liver, a bruised lung, two broken bones and a torn ligament in her left foot,  a completely shattered right foot, and a severe concussion.  We were told it was a miracle they were still alive.

Although we are so grateful that they survived, Jianna continues to suffer from her injuries.  The extent of trauma to her feet required surgery, placing one plate and six screws in her left foot and three plates and sixteen screws in her right foot.  It will take 8 months for her bones and ligaments to heal and 1-2 years until her body is back to "normal".

The news is challenging to hear for the newly 25 year old navigating her way through life.  Jianna's job at The Bungalow, her modeling career with Naturally Fit, and her dreams of playing professional volleyball for the Filipino National Team will need to be put on hold.

Getting Jianna home is the first step.
The next hurdle will be rehabilitation, where she will need to learn to walk again.

The recovery over the months will be a marathon, not a sprint, and the out of pocket costs of retrofitting her life will be immense and on going.

So many people have reached out wanting to help.  PRAYING is the most important gesture anyone can do. After prayer, giving through financial assistance is welcomed and appreciated. Anything helps!

Upcoming expenses will include Jianna's medical expenses for her 3 1/2 week stay at Cedars Sinai Hospital and week long stay at Hoag Acute Rehabilitation Hospital, along with future medical staff, further rehabilitation care and equipment, and future pain management care.

For those of you who know Jianna, you know she will give nothing less than 100% in fighting this tragedy.  She fought her way to earn a full ride scholarship as an undersized player to The University of San Diego, where at one point she helped her team rank no. 2 in the country. She also fought her way onto the Dean's List there, earning her English B.A. degree. She then fought her way to earn another full ride scholarship to The University of Arizona, earning PAC-12 honors and 2016 NCAA honors as a 5th year player.

It takes a minute of watching Jianna to know and recognize her passionate heart and her undying inability to give up.

Lets be the team she needs, as she fights to walk again.
