Surrogacy Fund & Naming Rights
Donation protected
Jill and I have a dream of starting our own family, but any dream worth chasing has its challenges. The first hurdle we face is limited options for us to bring our own child into this world, which is why we are going the route of a surrogate. While we have the supplies for baby-making, we lack the essential piece of equipment to grow our future child. Jill developed fibroids in 2005 and had them removed three times over the next eight years. Increasing complications time after time lead her to a very tough decision in 2013: a hysterectomy.
Just two years later, Jill met the man of her dreams and was swept off her feet. Now, both of us have dreams of our own little family and we're not afraid of the realistic challenges that we face. But there is one complication that a group effort would be most effective against…surrogacy expenses can range from $25K into six figures, with an average of $40K-$50K.
Anything you're willing to contribute is much appreciated! And if you know of anyone that has been down this road before, we'd love to hear from others about their experience. Please spread the word and forward this campaign to anyone you think would like to support our future family.
What’s in it for you?
Yes, you’ll feel spectacular for helping make our dreams come true, but that internal feeling only carries you so far before you yearn for something tangible. No, we’re not giving away cute shirts you can wear to show off to your friends. No, we’re not going to add you to our child’s birthday mailing list so you can creepily follow them throughout their life. Here’s what you get...Naming Rights. Yep, we’re selling the middle name naming rights of our child. Some of you may have just gasped, some of you may be nodding your head, eyebrows high with approval. Either way, our journey to parenthood has already taken a strange and unplanned turn and our perspective on the matter is one of excitement, adventure, and fun, and we’re going to pass that on to little Jack or Maddie by having some fun with his/her commemorative middle name(s).
The Rules
Nothing obscene. We don’t want to give our child a complex from day one, but you are allowed to have some fun with it. My beautiful sweet bride gets ultimate veto power. And if we're lucky enough to have ties for any of the naming rights, Jill will determine the order. If you have a problem with that, take it up with her. My advice...she wins.
The Prize Money
• 1st Middle Name: $10,000
• 2nd Middle Name: $5,000
• 3rd Middle Name: $2,500
• Subsequent Middle Names: $1,500
(Yes, we think it would make a great story if our child had four, five, or six middle names.)
Thank you so much for your support! Please realize that this is a very important piece of our lives and our cavalier idea of "naming rights" is not one made from a trivial perspective on the matter, but one of fun, spontaneity, and chance that our child will carry on forever. Isn't that the attitude that lead to so many of us today!?
