JILL LESLEY VALENTINE - 15 April 1964 to 18 June 2024

UPDATE: Jill's UK funeral will be on 23 August - 12.15 pm at St Michael's Church, Flixton and then at 1.30 pm at Urmston Cemetery, with a reception afterwards at a venue yet to be decided. We hope you can come - it would be lovely to see you there to say goodbye to Jill together. A small donation instead of flowers would be most welcome, but your presence is the most important thing!

On 11 June I welcomed my beloved younger sister Jill to our home in France to celebrate her 60th birthday and to commemorate the first anniversary of the death of our son, Jack. Sadly, Jill died suddenly here in the early hours of 18 June, exactly one year after the tragic loss of her only nephew.

Jill, much loved mother of Kevan and my only sister, was only 60 years old and had no assets of any kind. In order to cover the costs of a cremation in France and then returning her ashes to the UK to be buried with our parents in a full funeral in our home town of Urmston, Manchester, we are appealing today for your generous help.

Those of you that had the good fortune to know Jill know that she was a kind, fiercely loyal and fun-loving girl and was always ready to help others, whatever the cost to herself. She adored her only son, Kevan, with whom she lived and, aside from financial support, he will need all our love and help to come to terms with this dreadful sudden loss.

So if you feel you are able to help by giving just a little something instead of sending flowers or gifts, that would be wonderful.

Jill was cremated in Limoges, France at 2.00 pm on Monday 24 June. I took her ashes back to the UK last week.
