Hello all! I'm not usually one to ask for help, however I have very suddenly, (this past weekend), been put in a financial pickle that could leave me without a place to live soon . Unfortunately, due to job losses and financial hardships over the last 6 months... I now have no other choice but to reach out, and have decided to take the suggestion of friends to try this approach.
What happened? Well, in August I found myself without a job for the first time in more than a decade and have not been able to aquire any full-time work as of yet... but I am hunting.
In addition to my run of bad luck out in the work force, I came home from a bartending shift this past Saturday evening, to find my companion of more than 11 years had packed up and left, without warning... just vanished, As far as I knew, he was going to pick up a relief check that night to assist us with December's rent, but apparently he had a different plan. When he left, he took any and all funds for the bills, basically abandoning me with no money... Again, this was without warning, so there was no preparing for it. At this point, I had already used all available credit, maxing out my cards just to keep us afloat. Indeed the bills have been piling up for months and I can no longer "rob Peter to pay Paul" as the saying goes. All I CAN do, is continue to push forward and past this huge bump in the road, with the hopes that the grieving process is quick and I get back on my own two feet again ASAP.
Currently I'm employed part-time, (and picking up what "odd jobs" I can on the side), but it is not going to be enough to sustain me and I am not in a position to move, nor do I want to give up my home and all that I've worked hard for the last 10years. I know that once I'm working full-time again I can scrape enough to survive. But at this stage, with the situation being so sudden, even if I were hired on somewhere today, there wouldn't be enough time to come up with the necessary funds to cover what needs to be paid... First of the month is right around the corner.
In the meantime, my goal is to generate enough funds to secure my apartment for a couple months and cover utilities and not be cut-off from the world while I scratch and claw my way out of this hole. Any help would be greatly appreciated, even if you simply share this and help keep it circulating. Thank you all from the bottom of heart.
