Help Jill Beat Cancer

In January 2023, my sister Jill Pollin Madone was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. At the beginning of December, she was having some issues and her doctor suggested that she get a colonoscopy and discovered a tumor. They performed a biopsy that came back she had colon cancer. Immediately they knew she needed to have the tumor surgically removed but first, they needed to do a CT scan to see if the cancer had spread. Unfortunately, her scan came back with signs of spreading. Her cancer had spread to her liver. This was a shock to us all since she is only 41 years old. Her team of doctors immediately started her on chemo.

Today, April 26th, my sister is going into surgery to remove part of her liver and part of her colon. They will also be installing an HAI liver pump that will directly deliver chemo to her liver in addition to the chemo she has been on and will continue to treat the rest of her body. This will require a minimum of 6 months of chemotherapy.

I am reaching out to ask for your help to support Jill’s fight and recovery from this life-threatening disease. She is a wonderful mother to her 5-year-old son and has an amazing and supportive husband Mike. She has always been a hardworking woman but unfortunately, had to stop working due to the effects the chemo treatment had on her body.

Everyone that knows Jill knows that she’s such an incredible person. She is sweet, funny, caring and is always willing to help and support anyone who needs it. My sister has never been the type of person to ask for help, however, she’ll need all the help and support to get through this tough journey.

She drives 2 hours to Denver every week to 2 weeks for her treatments and appointments. The cost of driving, staying in a hotel, childcare for her 5-year-old and of course the medical bills add up.
