Jill's 2018 Story:
The day before Valentine's Day, 2018, Jill went to the hospital.  At that time she was very weak and had difficulty walking.  Testing was performed.  She was told that they had found breast cancer which had metastasized to her liver, bone, and lung.
Jill has not been back to work since that time.
She began chemotherapy treatments immediately.  Being a private person, many of Jill's friends did not know all that was going on, or the magnitude of her prognosis.  But Jill's doctor has a plan of treatment and a positive attitude, and goals are set for her future plan of treatment.
During this past summer, Jill had a setback from the effects of treatments and went to stay with her sister, Judy (and her husband) in Ohio.  If you've had the opportunity to visit Jill in Ohio, you see a strong support system with loving family values. . . . a glimpse of where Jill comes from.
Jill returned to Pittsburgh late summer and continued her chemotherapy treatments.  A PET Scan revealed spots in her lungs becoming larger, and the breast cancer spots becoming smaller.  A lung biopsy was performed.
The Oncologist considered a second, primary cancer in Jill's bladder.  Considered unusual, two primary cancers in about 8 months?  And no symptoms of bladder issues?  A bladder scope was performed in October, and a stent was inserted.  No evidence of bladder cancer was found!  The stent in Jill's bladder was removed.
We are now in the month of November, still in 2018.  A recent test shows a new lump in Jill's breast.  The doctor is considering whether this is a different strain of cancer.  A second, primary strain?  A recent biopsy has been performed.
Jill was admitted to the hospital on Saturday, November 3 for nausea, dizziness, headache and weakness.  On Monday, November 5 a scan discovered that Jill has a tumor in her brain.
She is receiving steroids, and radiation therapy began on Tuesday, November 6.
The current plan of treatment is that Jill receive 10 radiation treatments.  Currently she is staying in a rehabilitation home and traveling to the hospital daily for treatments.  She is scheduled to begin chemotherapy treatments again soon.
Looking forward to the end of 2018 soon, and an outlook for a healthier Jill in 2019.
'tis the Season.
Please give to help Jill.  Thank you.
