After a week or two of noticing some changes in our dad, our mom, Missy, and I convinced dad to go see his primary care provider. After some evaluations she sent him for testing.

On Thursday May 4th, our dad had a CT done which showed a large mass on his right frontal lobe. On Friday a MRI confirmed it. He was transferred to The James Cancer Hospital where he spent a few nights being monitored and kept comfortable. Another CT and MRI yet again showed “Sketch” (our dad is a rotten man who has named his tumor) On Tuesday May 9th, a PET scan was performed which came back negative- meaning there was no evidence for malignant disease anywhere but his precious head. On Wednesday May 10th, he was discharged with orders to return on Friday May 12th, for a brain tumor biopsy. Preliminary results are giving us hope that the tumor is a lesser evil. Official results should be in within 3/5 days. We are all devastated and still in shock. Looking back we believe he has been showing signs for months, we just didn’t notice, and it never crossed our minds that this was happening. We don’t have many answers yet, but rest assured we truly feel that our Dad's diagnosis and outcome has been written on his life from the day he was born. We trust that he is going to be taken care of in the best way.

The next few minutes, hours, days and weeks are going to be very hard. News will be delivered, treatment plans and surgeries will be put into place, days will pass slowly and the world around us will continue to move on. This is the hardest thing we have ever been through but our God will not fail us. We need prayers for comfort and peace, prayers for guided hands for the doctors and the team assigned. Please say an extra prayer for our mom Jackie. She has been his companion for over 40 years. They are best friends.

We are raising funds to help cover many expenses for our mom and dad. Bills, Travel, Food, Medical, etc… If you can help in any way it would be greatly appreciated. Mom is currently disabled and has been for some time. All donations will do directly to her and dad to help them finally navigate with a little more ease through the coming weeks.

**** Dad also has a long bucket list. We are going to do our best to get as much on his list checked off that we can. We know our time with him is limited- but we are going to make sure that when he’s able, he’s doing what he wants to do!!
