Jim Bell Memorial Bench on American Trotter Trail
Donation protected
The other night, I was on a walk on the Trotter Trail between the Independence schools. As I walked, I saw several benches without memorial plaques on them. I immediately thought, "Uncle Jim deserves one of these benches to be dedicated to him." This morning, I reached out to Principal John Howard and Vice-Principal Dewey Hupke to ask for details on the bench donation process. They both agreed, that "Jim was a great advocate for our students. And anyone who lives like that deserves to be recognized!!"
We all knew Jim as a man with a huge heart and someone who would help anyone who needed it. Please consider helping Jim’s family raise $1500 to give to the Mustang Foundation to fund a bench at the Jr/Sr High Entrance in Jim's memory. If extra money were to be raised, we would put it towards the Bell Family (Charles & Alice - Charles Jr - and Jim) Scholarship fund.
James Bell died Wednesday, July 24, 2019. He was a 1969 graduate of Independence High School in Independence, IA. He worked as a custodian for the Independence Community School District for over seventeen years.
