Hi my name is Jack Britton and on my behalf our family, we are raising funds in support of the Epilepsy Research Institute UK.

My father suffered from Frontal Temporal Lobe Epilepsy.

At approximately 09:30am on the 27th May 2024 my father took his last walk with his dog along the boardwalk of St Mary’s Island, which was his favourite dog walk route and the place which he absolutely adored. Unfortunately, my father had suffered an unexpected fatal day time seizure which he hadn’t experienced for a number of years, which led to the tragic events of his death.

Due to the incredible actions of the blue light services and the Chatham Maritime Watersports Team, they were able to pull my father from the water and resuscitate him. The quick response from those individuals allowed us to be with my father in hospital and say our final goodbyes. Unfortunately, my father passed away on 28th May 2024.

We are raising proceeds to donate towards the Epilepsy Research Institute UK in the hope that we can prevent another family experiencing the suffering that my family is currently going through.
