Jim Gunville Medical & Cancer Expenses

For those who may or may not know, my dad, Jim Gunville, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of bladder cancer in May. He started to have blood in his urine in April, so he went to his doctor where they discovered a large tumor in his bladder.

 

Since then, he's had the tumor removed, went through lots of testing, and is currently undergoing chemotherapy; he will also have to have radiation and his bladder and prostate removed due to the cancer being in the muscle too. The good news is that so far, testing has not shown any cancer in the bone or brain.

 

His Urologist and Oncologist are in Iron Mountain though, where he receives all chemo/radiation, so traveling with the current price of gas is adding up fast. He will also have to have his bladder and prostate removed in Madison, WI, which will be extra travel and hotel costs. And of course, there are the medical bills as well.

 

My dad drives school bus and was not able to finish out this school year; we're not sure yet when he will be able to return next year. We're trying to stay positive, especially since the cancer seems to be isolated so far.
