Jim Hesketh Medical Assistance

Jim Hesketh is currently fighting CMML Leukemia at the University of Minnesota Fairview Hospital east bank. He was diagnosed about a month ago and was hospitalized on Monday, October 24th with multiple infections that eventually overtook his entire body. On Wednesday, October 26th, he was moved to ICU and he was put him on a ventilator to assist him with his breathing. The doctors were not sure he would recover but he proved them wrong and rallied on Friday, October 29th and the tube was removed.

At this point, he is breathing on his own and is able to talk with family and medical staff. He has a long road to build up his strength and will then be facing the fight against the Leukemia which is not curable but can be treated to improve the length of his life depending on his response to the chemotherapy.

Jim has been married to Cary for 43 years and is 66 years old. They have two sons, Brett and Troy and a granddaughter, Evie. Jim was an athlete his whole life. He played baseball and basketball through Hopkins High School and attended the University of North Dakota on a baseball scholarship in the 1970s. As his boys grew up, he was a coach and team manager for their baseball and hockey teams. Jim works as an accountant for Super Radiator Coils.

Jim is the son of Jim and Roberta Hesketh of Minnetonka, Minnesota and was the youngest of three children. His oldest sister, JoNell lives in Grand Forks, ND and his sister, Judie died of lymphoma at the age of 24 in 1977.

The medical bills will be overwhelming as at this point he has been hospitalized for over a month and more treatment is needed.
