Jim Klimek's Cancer Fund
Donation protected
Jim Klimek, our dad, is a 59 year old, hardworking, devout Catholic, living in Minnesota. He is the proud father of nine and grandfather of (almost) four.
This fall, Dad developed a chronic cough. This seemed to happen, to some extent, every year; and he attributed it initially to cutting and splitting wood. In early December, his voice got hoarse and the cough worsened.
He had several tests at Mayo over the past couple of weeks.
The doctor called us this morning (01-15-21) with the results.
Dad has been diagnosed with Stage 3 Adenocarcinoma. This is a type of non-small cell lung cancer, which is one of the fastest-growing types of lung cancer. It is inoperable at this point.
He has meetings scheduled with chemo and radiation doctors at Mayo Rochester. We are also looking into going to a hospital in Houston that is doing more cutting edge cancer treatments.
Obviously, this would not be covered by insurance. Even the treatments in-network will not be fully covered by insurance.
The upcoming financial burden is already weighing on Dad's mind.
Any financial contribution you are able to make will be greatly appreciated. If you are not in a position to donate financially, please remember us in your prayers, as we will be daily doing for you, our benefactors.
We created a CaringBridge page where you can also follow along: https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/jamesklimek
The same information will be shared on both platforms.
May God bless you!
Our Lady Help of the Sick, pray for us!
Saint Peregrine, pray for us!
