Jim Kolbe

Jim Kolbe is a lifelong resident of Wahpeton, North Dakota. He is in his 40th year barbering at Mr. T's Hairstyling, and was recently diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma. Jim started doctoring in December, 2022, for an enlarged tonsil. In February 2023, the tonsil and two lymph nodes were found to be cancerous and were surgically removed on April 3, 2023.

In May, Jim underwent two weeks of chemo/radiation treatments that required him to stay for an extended period of time in Fargo. There is a high probability of a good outcome, but there will be several months of recovery depending on how his body reacts to the treatments.

Jim and his wife, are both self-employed and have missed many weeks of work, with more to follow. They have a high deductible insurance plan, co-pays, fuel and hotel expenses, which means a lot of out-of-pocket expenses.

Jim has completed his chemo and radiation treatments and is working through his recovery process.
