Silver Lake Young Hunts -Jim Overman
Donation protected
Jim Overman was an avid outdoorsman and wildlife conservationist. He had the opportunity to hunt and fish in over twenty states including Hawaii and Alaska. He was active in the community as he loved teaching and lived the quote “Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.” He was known as a great storyteller and never met a stranger. He loved hunting Silver Lake Wildlife Management Area and lead many people on their first hunting and fishing experience locally.
Jim was always an advocate of teaching children & adults about wildlife and its conservation. As we reflect upon his legacy, his love for the outdoors has inspired us to ask for donations in lieu of flowers to further inspire generations. All money will go to Silver Lake WMA in remembrance of Jim Overman. They are working with the family on programs for youth/handicap hunters and to promote education of wildlife in his honor.
Please leave in your comments any story you may have fishing or hunting with Jim. The family would love to hear how he impacted your life.
