Jim Randolph in his Recovery from Cancer
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Isabel Tucen. I have been a student and friend to Jim at New World School of the Arts and have garnered the courage to make a GoFund me page for him who is such an inspirational teacher and mentor to me and many other students that have walked the halls of New World School of the Arts.
Jim has been an Associate Professor at NWSA for 34 years. He has lead a very full and electic career in acting, teaching and directing. He has won the trust of all his students and has been such a role model to follow for future actors that want to pursue a career in theatre.
More than a teacher Jim has given himself to his students and his craft by always being present and available to our needs even becoming a father figure for those of us who love him most.
This year Jim was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma.
Multiple myeloma is a cancer that forms in a type of white blood cell called a plasma cell. Healthy plasma cells help you fight infections by making antibodies that recognize and attack germs.
In multiple myeloma, cancerous plasma cells accumulate in the bone marrow and crowd out healthy blood cells. Rather than produce helpful antibodies, the cancer cells produce abnormal proteins that can cause complications.
Thankfully Jim has been responding well to the medications and treatment and the doctors are pleased with his progress.
This GoFund me has been made with the intention to help Jim pay his medical and personal expenses.
Due to inflation and the ever changing world we live in it is easy for expenses to rack up and be overwhelming when one is sick.
With his diagnosis he has taken a small hiatus from teaching in the summer and is hopeful to return as soon as he is able to do so.
I kindly ask for your help and kindness to this cause.
If you can find it in your heart donate what you can and share this message to others who may know him and may want to help.
Thank you for your time and consideration! All prayers and good vibes to send Jims way are welcome!
