Remembering Jim Sanford

Hello, my name is Krystin Andersen and I am Jim's sister. Our family unfortunately received devastating news on March 28 2024 that Jim had passed away at his home in Apple Valley, MN. We are shocked and saddened by this news. Jim was an amazing person, truly the world will never be the same without him. He took such pride in all his accomplishments both personal and professional. We know he has friends from all over hurting along with us right now since he had such a positive effect on everyone he met. His passion for animals was clear and he took his zoo keeping job very serious. He loved being a part of the zoo community and talked about his ideas all the time! I even tried to give him some ideas myself although I'm not sure he actually liked any of mine. We lived vicariously through Jim, he had such an amazing job and was so good at it. He loved all his family and took joy in being the fun uncle, all the love but no responsibility! His loss will be felt for such a long time and I know our lives will never be the same.

Any donation will be greatly appreciated and will be put towards Jim's funeral and personal expenses. Right now we are working at going through his home and figuring out his finances and personal effects. More information will be released when his arrangements are finalized.
