Jim Whitright (AKA Tiny), a 4th generation Eau Claire farmer, is another of the affected by Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE), a rare mosquito-borne virus that causes brain inflammation. On August 19 Jim became very sick with a high fever and was taken by ambulance to the ER where his symptoms worsened very quickly. Since that day, many people's lives have changed. Jim has been in critical condition in the ICU at Lakeland for 4 weeks and has now transferred to a long-term care facility where he is starting to make a little bit of progress but he is not awake and has not opened his eyes yet.  He has a very long road to recovery ahead of him.

While his family is spending as much time as possible with him at the  hospital around the clock, running the farm and trying to prepare for the unknown, medical expenses and long-term care costs are accumulating.  Many people have offered help to the family and as the next steps for Jim are being prepared the family could use any support towards Jim's recovery. This GoFundMe page will give those the opportunity.
