Jimi Carrow's last journey home
Donation protected
Dearest friends, family, musicians,
Jimi left the earthly stage forever this week at the age of 67, leaving us behind in a state of shock and sadness.
Please forgive me for being at a loss for words.
After retiring last May, he was very happy to move to his new place (Viernheim) just in March of this year. From there, he embarked on his last journey home after his heart stopped a few days ago. It was his wish to be put to rest next to his beloved Mom in Washington State where his family has already reserved a plot for him.
Due to his financial situation, donations are needed for his cremation and journey to his final resting place in order to honor his wish. Please consider donating, if at all possible, as any amount will be truly appreciated. We need to raise 4,000 € (4,500 $) by next week Friday (21 July) to cover the cost.
I was shocked to find out today that neither the US Army nor the US Consulate in Germany would assist Jimi in this matter. Turns out that casualty assistance is only for retirees, not veterans. He will get a flag, though.
If we exceed our goal, any additional funds will be donated to his family.
It would mean a lot if you could share Jimi's funeral fundraiser with others who knew him.
One other important note:
Please schedule regular check-ups with your doctor for your heart and blood pressure!
With love from Jimi's long-time friend
