Jimmy Casto is Kicking Cancer's Butt

Dear Friends,

This is Heather Connell, Margo Alexiou, David Boshara and Rob Logan. We are reaching out because our dear friend Jimmy Casto desperately needs our help.

As many are aware, Jimmy was diagnosed with cancer. Last fall, after an extended illness and just not feeling right, Jimmy received the devastating news that he had nasopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma.

In typical Jimmy fashion, he approached this life challenge like the lion he is -- he has been fighting this cancer ferociously. In January, he underwent a 20-hour surgery on his face and airway to remove the cancer. Through the grace of God and the skills of world-class surgeons, all cancerous tissue was able to be removed, and the treatment was able to stop it before spreading to his eyes or brain.

His fight has not stopped there. After some recovery from the surgery, he started his radiation therapy, which required 30 consecutive treatments. On our drives to the Cleveland Clinic for his treatment, I have rarely witnessed a person handle a challenge with such strength and dignity. He always expresses his desire to fight, and God saved him -- he has so many more things to do in this life. Today, April 6, 2023 Jimmy completed his radiation therapy!!

After Jimmy heals from his radiation, he will need several more surgeries for his facial reconstruction and additional surgeries on his leg, where they removed bone for a graft for his face. Our friend still has a long, tough road ahead of him. I’m hoping that setting this fundraiser up will help Jimmy offset the cost of treatment and other costs of living he will need since he has not and will not be able to work for several months.
