Jimmy Mcbride's Celebration of Life

Mr Music, Jimmy Quik, Jimmy Mcbride was all about the MUSIC!

I am saddened to say our loving brother, uncle and friend has been called home. I am Binki, aka Beatrice Mcbride, his sister and confidant.

Jimmy’s sudden passing has been hard on all of us. He overcame seven years of dialysis and God blessed him with a kidney transplant three years ago. A celebration of his life will be a wonderful way to bring folks together. Jimmy always loved when his friends and family got together.

Always the consummate entertainer, unfortunately, Jimmy did not have life insurance. The goal is to raise $12,000 by September 23. It’s a great task but with God, family, and friends we can make it happen. The funds will go to funeral expenses in Dallas, Texas, where he has lived for the last twenty years. We also want to transport him back home to Connecticut, where he was born, and his music career began. Jimmy traveled the world for music, and this will be his final journey home.

A natural talent, Jimmy started drumming on his mother's furniture, then became a distinguished drummer. He soon was a sought-after musician and sound engineer throughout the U.S. and Canada. He mentored DJ's and countless artists.

Jimmy was a lesson in humility and service. He was good for calling folks on a regular basis to love on them and to keep in touch, “I just talked to him!” was the typical response I heard after his passing.

I answered his phone. Your amazing stories and, yes, your tears were a blessing beyond measure. The outpouring of love is the motivation for this celebration. He was always planning and promoting something to do with music. Let’s carry on his rich legacy. Let's party and vibe like Jimmy would want us to. Let’s celebrate his homecoming, which he so richly deserves!!
