Jimmy Polings Road to Recovery

I have created this account for my brother in law and his family. Jimmy was involved in an accident and has a long road ahead of him with several surgeries. With that he will be out of work for a while. Money raised will be used to help with medical costs, bills, and other necessities they may need.

I have added my sisters updates as posted.

1#If everyone could please keep kaysli and kolsyns daddy in their prayers, we would greatly appreciate it. He has been in a terrible car accident and was thrown from his vehicle.

As of now, he is sedated and on a ventilator. He is on the very minimal oxygen and is breathing over top of it. They haven’t seen any internal bleeding and nothing Neurological as of now. His BP is currently dropping, so they are entering a arterial line now. We are waiting for him to go back into surgery now to stabilize his left leg that is completely shattered and his left arm/elbow. He is showing signs of movement and is alert under the sedation.

Update: He’s in surgery now - the doctors are unsure how long it will be.

#2 Jimmy is out of surgery. We don’t know much currently other then it went well. Marla and I got to see him for a few minutes, but was asked to go back to the waiting room while they finished getting him situated. He’s alert, knows who we are, and his pain is managed..

Update: they stabilized his leg and splinted his arm. And cleaned a deep cut

#3 Jimmy will need to have at least two more surgery’s totaling in around 9hrs if no issues arise. They are going to let him rest and plan on doing his second surgery Tuesday latest Wednesday. He will have a scan tonight on his leg just to make sure placement is looking good.

Jimmy has an open fracture of the elbow around the joints, plus two other fractures in his arm. In his leg, his tibia bone is fractured, femur is fractured in 4 different places, and his hip is also fractured. His next surgery they will go in and put a metal rod along with metal plates. They are hoping to do his leg in 1 surgery, but if they can not, he may have to have a total of 3 more surgeries.

After the surgeries if everything continues to go good, he will then start PT and he thinks he will be back to his base line within 6 months.

It is possible that after these surgeries they may fine more fractures in other places.

He’s communicating really good with hand squeezing, shaking his head, and he is able to rate his pain level.

#4 Update on Jimmy Poling

CT scan of the brain came back negative.

He does have some blood in the lungs, but no drain tube is needed. He also has some bruising on the lungs.

Respiratory did a test and if everything comes back good with it, then his breathing tube will get removed and he will get something to eat. They also did a chest X-ray.

He is expected to get moved out of ICU tomorrow!

#5 Jimmy Poling Update

UPDATE: They have also removed his arterial line

He got to talk to the kiddos and his nieces, so that made him really happy.

His pain level on a scale of 1-10 is a 6 and they would like to get it down to 4 or below. He’s taking his medications orally along with eating and drinking really well.

Jimmy is first on the list tomorrow to go into surgery around 7am and the doctor told us they would like to do both his leg and his arm tomorrow, but will see as it goes. The main focus is his hip and that is where most of his pain is coming from along with his arm. They told us to expect him to be in surgery all morning and they will keep us updated through out the surgery. Please continue to pray
