Help Jimmy & Toni Deal With Lung Cancer

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Emileigh Strode and I am raising funds on behalf of Jimmy Stevens, my step-father and dedicated grandfather.
Jimmy’s battle began 16 years ago with a diagnosis of Non-Hodgkins lymphoma, Stage 3. After countless rounds of chemotherapy and radiation and later a stem cell transplant, he did have a period of remission and was able to enjoy time with my mom and the rest of his large family - siblings, children, nieces, nephews and grandchildren. However, over the years he has been plagued with countless skin cancers which in recent times have required biweekly surgeries and caused much pain.
In November 2022, we were all saddened when his remission came to an end and he was re-diagnosed with Stage 4 small cell carcinoma lung cancer. Unfortunately, it has now spread to his stomach, liver, lymph nodes, lower abdomen and brain. Jimmy is suffering from a lot of pain, difficulty eating and sleeping, weakness and fatigue.

My mom has had to drastically cut back on her work hours due to taking care of him, driving to appointments, etc., and is now taking a leave of absence. She has had her own struggle with Stage 4 colon cancer and after major surgery and many rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, we are grateful to say that she has been in remission 5+ years. Over the years, there have been dozens of trips to Winston Salem for both of them, where they received the bulk of their treatment, some of which required several overnight stays. Needless to say, this has taken a great toll on them financially, physically and emotionally.

To help alleviate some of the stress, we are hoping to raise funds to assist with the financial burden. Donations will cover: keeping gas in their car, maintaining their home, (mortgage payments, utilities, etc.), buying groceries, and paying for uncovered medical expenses.

For those of you who have been through a similar battle in your own family or with a close friend, you know the level of stress and hardship involved. We will be posting updates on Jimmy’s condition and let you know if there are other ways to be helpful. For those of you who know Jimmy, you know that he loves visitors and if any of you have time for dropping off a meal or some grocery items, that would also be greatly appreciated. We will post some of his favorite foods soon.

No monetary donation is too small, and every little bit helps. As we all know, it takes a village to make a difference! We thank you in advance for any and all donations!
